Kosmos (2009)

Rated NR 122 minutes

A mysterious stranger comes running out of a barren, snow-covered landscape; hearing screams, he heads to the river bank and saves a young boy who's fallen in the swift currents. Although assumed to be dead, the boy is somehow revived by the stranger; later, the stranger, who calls himself Kosmos, is led by the boy's grateful father and sister to a nearby town, where the locals greet him as a hero. With his wild appearance, penchant for enigmatic pronouncements, and supposedly miraculous powers, Kosmos is thought to be some kind of seer or holy man-but if he is, he's not like any other anyone has ever seen or heard about.
