What inspires a theatrical company to create a new show? In the case of the Immediacy Theatre Project, the muses include but are not limited to: video games, alcohol, Daniel Day-Lewis’ performance in There Will Be Blood, random found texts, musical theatre and lightsabers. So, you know, have high hopes for Drawn and Quartered: Armageddapocalypse, the ITP’s newest show. Thirty-five, super-short plays are performed in dizzying succession at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (May 2 through 10) at the Tin Ceiling Theatre (3158 Cherokee Street) to create one whole theatrical entity; although the entire thing is scripted, the ITP cast pride themselves on their spur-of-the-moment approach to performance, so each show will be slightly different. Tickets are $8. For more information, visit www.immediacytheatre.org.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: May 2. Continues through May 10, 2008
