Kings Go Forth

9:30 p.m. Saturday, November 19. The Firebird, 2706 Olive Street.

For various cultural and monetary reasons, Kings Go Forth should not exist. An active Milwaukee band should not be capable of creating such vintage-steeped soul that 2010's The Outsiders Are Back sounds like an obscure '70s funk record uncovered by obsessive crate digging. This recessing economy should not be able to support a ten-piece touring group roughing it out in small clubs. A frontman who dresses like P-Funk, sings like Motown and calls himself Black Wolf is too awesome to be a real thing. But all this is truth; skeptics are welcome to attend Kings Go Forth's logic-defying show for proof.

Only Acceptable Excuses to Sit: Physical injury, mental overstimulation, you are Kings Go Forth's drummer.
