Kim Chi

Friday, March 31, 9 p.m. Lemmons (5800 Gravois Avenue)

The ingredients in the Korean dish kim chi include (among other things) cabbage, red-pepper powder, salt, pickled shrimp and green onions. Equally as spicy but not nearly as gastronomically questionable are the ingredients in the Columbia, Missouri, electro-dancepop trio known as Kim Chi. There's Asia Wong, Mary Nguyen and token white dude DJ BiBimBop (a.k.a. Seth Ashley of dearly departed indie-pop wavemakers the Kingdom Flying Club). Catch a rare local appearance at the tail-end of their Midwest mini-tour and learn how to speak a few key Korean phrases involving octopi, headaches and sub-par produce in the process. Confused? Live PowerPoint presentations (in both English and Korean!) will help clarify things.
