Keg-Stand for Science!

Somewhere we’ve heard that if you don’t use skills, you lose them. And you know your math smarts are already on the decline -- you can barely figure out proper restaurant tips anymore -- so the nugget of your brain devoted to science is probably shriveling as well. Save and nourish it by getting to the Schlafly Bottleworks (7260 Southwest Avenue, Maplewood) at 7 p.m. this evening. The beer probably won’t help your intelligence, but Washington University’s free Science on Tap discussion just may save some brain cells. This month’s twenty-minute lecture, titled “Cognitive Illusions: How the Mind Bends Reality,” is given by Henry L. Roediger III, a professor of psychology. If that topic, and the hourlong discussion that follows the presentation, doesn’t make you think, we’re not sure what will. For more information about the Science on Tap series, call 314-935-5285 or visit scienceontap.wustl.edu.
