Now, Ms. Day is not one to judge the proverbial book by its cover, but she's going to go out on a limb here and say that Robert Fishbone is quite unusual. He's an artist, for starters — they're always a little strange, aren't they? — and he and his wife, Sarah Linquist, are the founders of On the Wall Productions, a mural-painting entity that is also responsible for the Edvard Munch-inspired The Scream inflatable. Plus, this Fishbone is a musician — another somewhat-bizarre group of folks — who has been known to create his own instruments when ones that suit him don't yet exist. And, not to ignore the obvious, this musician/artist is also someone who owns a lovely multicolored robe — now, that's something else! If you'd like to see more of the kaleidoscopic Fishbone (and why wouldn't you?!), drop by the Sheldon Concert Hall (3648 Washington Boulevard; 314-533-9900 or tonight at 7:30 p.m., when he plays his handmade instruments and wears his exotic costumes all while spinning stories and telling jokes. Tickets for this uniquely entertaining night of everything-but-the-kitchen-sink fun cost $10 and are available at the door; the performance is recommended for those thirteen and older.
