"Live From Grand Center" features legendary Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Janis Ian at her best, as she performs a retrospective from her 40-year career. Filmed before an live theater audience in St. Louis, the one hour concert features her singing 15 songs, as well as archival footage from 1967 when she was introduced to a national audience by Leonard Bernstein in his CBS television special Inside Pop: The Rock Revolution, singing her then controversial song "Society's Child." Additional footage from 1975's Soundstage juxtaposes Ian performing her iconic lament of teen insecurity, "At Seventeen" with her present day.
