It's More Fun on the Fringe

Is there any phrase more fraught with possibility than "you wanna see something?" Anything could follow those words -- they are the herald of the unexpected. And so for a second year running, the St. Louis Fringe Festival returns to ask, "You wanna see something?" Just say yes and prepare yourself for five days of dance theater, improv comedy, puppet shows and eight-bit musical theater, all happening Thursday through Monday (June 20 through 24) at numerous venues in Grand Center. Many of the shows play multiple times, so if you want to see a one-man show about a devoted/obsessed librarian attempting to find the person who checked out a book that is now 123 years overdue (that would be Glen Berger's Underneath the Lintel), you have four possible dates. It's performed by Patrick O'Brien at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 9 p.m. Friday, 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday (June 20 through 23) at the Kranzberg Arts Center (501 North Grand Boulevard). Admission to Underneath the Lintel is $12, plus the cost of your necessary festival badge ($5). Ticket prices for all shows are set by the artists but range from $5 to $12. Visit www.stlfringe .com for the full list of performers and their schedules, plus box-office information.
