I See Bargains In Your Future

This Memorial Day, the C and E parking lots of the University of Missouri-St. Louis (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; 314-286-4452 or www.slso.org/gypsycaravan) host one of the largest flea markets ever to infest the Midwest: the Gypsy Caravan. With more than 300 vendors to choose from, rummagers will have access to a multitude of delectable collectables and bric-a-brac buys — everything from antiques to sports memorabilia to piping-fresh eats and wandering entertainment, such as Gateway Organ Grinder Palmer Mai (pictured). For bargain hunters hoping to get dibs on the best deals, the caravan will be ripe for pillaging from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. with the purchase of a $20 early-bird admission. A $5 general-entrance fee applies thereafter, and the Gypsy Caravan moves on at 5 p.m. Admission proceeds support the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, and children twelve and younger are admitted free at all times.
