Home Taping is Art

comment
Erik Spehn applies masking tape to his canvases, paints on it, and then removes the tape; this discarded tape is then applied to matboard, making faint echoes of the original painting. Spehn's tape drawings are explorations made primarily for his own benefit, and they offer a unique insight into the creative process. Erik Spehn: Tape Drawings opens with a free public reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 4. The work remains on display through Saturday, September 18, and the gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: June 4. Continues through Sept. 18, 2010
