Kids rock and run

Not all children have the opportunity to compete in the Olympics — it just takes too much dedication for most families. But that doesn't mean that non-Olympian kids aren't talented or that they couldn't score high marks in the big games. To give the little ones an opportunity to show off their skills in some Olympic-type events, bring them to Nipher Middle School (next door to the Magic House, 516 South Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood; 314-822-8900 or www.magichouse.org) at 8 a.m. this morning. That's when and where the Kid-lympics are held, featuring races for all ages — there's everything from a Diaper Dash for one- and two-year-olds to a half-mile run for seven- to nine-year-olds. Participation costs $12, and everyone receives a goody bag and a gold medal!
