Ms. Day, image of untarnished perfection that she is, has already finished her holiday shopping. How did she do it? Well, months of thoughtful planning and strategic purchasing have made this relaxed holiday season a possibility for her. Now, unless you have a time machine, you won't be able to mimic the level of peaceful calmness that's overcome Day, but you can make a hectic shopping time a bit less frenzied by hitting up the Etsy Art Sale & Holiday Open House at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (3750 Washington Boulevard; 314-535-4660 or www.contemporarystl.org). At this fabulous sale, nearly twenty local artists offer up lovely handmade wares perfect for the purchasing. Maybe you'll spot an awesome necklace for Mom, an original artwork to spruce up Dad's office, a Missouri-wood cutting board for your sis, the budding chef, one-of-a-kind cards for all on your mailing list, and perhaps you'll even find a little something for yourself. The artisans share their wares beginning at 5 p.m.; admission is free and so is a Schlafly beer — if you bring along some canned goods to donate to Food Outreach.
