Grand Buffet

7 p.m. Monday, January 7. Pop's, 1403 Mississippi Avenue, Sauget, Illinois.

Grand Buffet, the dork-rap duo from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has been spitting satirical rhymes for over a decade, waxing and wailing on everything from candy bars to bears and bricks. With old-school synths that flatter Naughty by Nature, crashing beats that challenge all sanity, and choruses that are as infectious as anything from Lamb Chop's X-rated Sing-Along, Grand Buffet's music is all about the good times and great (rap) oldies. And much like other honorable hip-hop veterans, they're also always on the verge of startin' something. Their live show can entail anything from onstage shaving to pants removal. Break out the sanitizer: Grand Buffet is in town.
