Guido’s Deluxe, one of their most popular pizzas, is made with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and green peppers.
From the Tapas Calientes section of the menu comes the Bacalao a la Vizcaina, which is broiled Biscay-style codfish in a tomato, onion, olive oil and red pepper sauce.
No meal at Guido’s would be complete without a taste of their house made Sangria!
On the Italian side, there’s the Linguine with Clams prepared in a clam sauce with Olive Oil, white wine, garlic and butter. Shown here with a Spanish white wine, Verdejo, a Vina Mayor 2008.
Head Chef at Guido’s, Germaine Ozier, busy at work on a Friday afternoon.
Every other Friday afternoon for the last ten years, “Il Circolo Italiano” club meets at Guido’s for a lunch, wine and conversation. The Italian retirees, from bottom left, clockwise, are Pete Puleo, Carlo Giordano, Volerio Bianco, Roger Gennari and Vito Tomboli. They met many years ago through St. Louis’ Italian Club.
Lunch is served!
Guido’s Pizzeria & Tapas has been on The Hill for ten years. While they serve both Italian and Spanish fare, the décor is definitely a nod to the owner’s heritage in Madrid, Spain.
Also from the tapas menu is the Tabla Ibérica wich is a tapas frias plate served antipasto style with a combination of chorizo, jamón Serrano, Manchego cheese, salchichon and Spanish olives.
Tools of the trade at head chef Germaine Ozier’s disposal.
The Madrid connection evident throughout the restaurant’s interior, futbol banners decorate the rafters in the bar area of the restaurant.
Flamenco!
Snagria pitchers awaiting filling.

The house made Flan al Caramelo, an egg custard with caramel sauce.
The Spanish inspired décor would be incomplete without the conquered bull’s head, no?

This little guy greets you at the front door.
