Go Ask Alice

(About Dylan)

The age-old Dylan-versus-Brandon debate still rages on in the hearts of many die-hard Beverly Hills, 90210 fans. We like Brandon because he’s smart, and his hair’s impressively flat-topped. But rebellious Dylan has a cool car. What’s a girl to do? Stop obsessing about shows that aren’t even in syndication? Heck no! The ladies (and everyone else, really) should just get to the screening of Alice Upside Down. This coming-of-age film, which was shot in the Lou, was directed by Sandy Tung and stars Lucas Grabeel (of High School Musical fame), Ashley Drane (from That’s So Raven and wife of David Eckstein) and Dylan, we mean, Luke Perry. So he was here! In our city! Filming a movie! We think this gives Luke the edge! Alice Upside Down is shown at the Tivoli Theatre (6350 Delmar Boulevard, University City) at noon and 2:30 p.m., and there’s a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Regional Arts Commission (6128 Delmar Boulevard). After the screenings you can ask questions of Tung, Grabeel and others (alas, not Luke) about working with Luke, and during the reception you will have the opportunity to enjoy some food and drink while thinking about what Luke did when he was in town. Tickets to attend a screening cost $10, and the reception costs $35 (which includes a movie ticket); proceeds benefit Cinema St. Louis. For more information call 314-289-4153 or visit
