Girl Trouble

by

comment
Nobody wants to relive their awkward years -- particularly if those years involved Nazis. Michael Verhoeven's Oscar-nominated 1990 drama The Nasty Girl is inspired by the true story of German high school girl Anja Rosmus and her experiences in her Bavarian hometown once she decided to investigate its WWII history. Lena Stolze stars as Sonja (Anja), whose research for a history paper uncovers the role key citizens played in the rise of the Nazi Third Reich. The townspeople soon try to silence this "nasty girl" any way they can. The Nasty Girl screens at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Moore Auditorium on the Webster University campus (470 East Lockwood Avenue; 314-968-7487 or www.webster.edu/film-series). Tickets are $4 to $6.
