Get Along, Little Corn doggies

by

As refined as Ms. Day's tastes typically are — she nibbles on only the finest caviar and sips the most luxurious Champagnes — Day can't get enough of a corn dog. Yep, that's right. When the ballpark staple trades in its bun for a delicious corn bread blanket, Day feels like she's in snack-food heaven, a place where beloved foods-on-sticks reign supreme and nary a cork is popped. She doesn't make it to this paradise often — she's fancy, you know — but she'll be paying it a visit this weekend when Beatnik Bob's with the Museum of Mirth, Mystery and Mayhem in the City Museum (701 North 15th Street; 314-231-2489 or www.citymuseum.org) host a celebration honoring National Corn Dog Day. At this awesome event, the origins of the corndog will be revealed as Day and others eat the glorious snacks, guzzle beers (the common man's Champagne) and hear live music. Getting into the City Museum and attending this fun party cost $10; the corn-doggone good time runs from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
