From Russia with Lust

A Friday night without an orgy is a Friday night wasted. There — I've said it. Oh, the town fathers can cluck their tongues and wag their heads in approbation, but if you want hot bodies swirling in a carnal dance of lust, you'll shed your inhibitions and get to the fleshpot that is the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-4949 or www.dancestlouis.org). The St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre is in town to present Scheherazade, along with Ravel's insidiously erotic Bolero, either of which could put Viagra out of business. It is Michel Fokine's Scheherazade, of course, that provides the group sex. With Rimsky-Korsakov's exotic, sensuous score as mood music, Zobeide, the harem favorite, releases the male slaves into said harem — and nature takes its dirty, writhing course. Of course, the Shah returns and puts everyone to death for their licentious ways, but don't let that be a buzz kill; there are worse ways to leave this world. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday (February 22 and 23), and tickets are $28 to $50. Bring a friend; maybe bring two — who knows where the night will lead.
