Evan Dando

9 p.m. Tuesday, February 16. The Old Rock House, 1200 South Seventh Street.

Despite well-publicized battles with drug addiction, unstable band lineups and the general woes that result when you're really, really, good-looking and have a wife that's a runway model, Evan Dando always seems to keep plugging away. Most recently, the Lemonheads frontman released an album of covers, which featured faithful renditions of everything from Gram Parsons' "I Just Can't Take It Anymore" to Wire's "Fragile." Early 2010 finds the shoulder-shrugging baritone crooner on a solo acoustic tour; setlists from recent shows included classic Lemonheads fare alongside covers and even selections from the underrated 2003 solo record, Baby I'm Bored. Overly squashed production — and not song quality — ruined that effort, and so it should be refreshing to see them performed in simple, stripped-down fashion.
