Eat, Art, Give

If you really think about it, there's an art to just about everything we do. Driving to work in rush-hour traffic can be considered a kind of ballet, one in which we're exiting stage left here, switching lanes and chassé-ing around other vehicles there. Managing our work/life balance is akin to a high-wire act, no doubt about it, and eating and truly appreciating where our food comes from? Well, there's an art to that, too — especially at Slow Food St. Louis' Art of Food fundraising event (www.artoffoodstl.com). For the food fest, folks will gather at the Mad Art Gallery (2727 South 12th Street) from 6 to 10 p.m., where they'll find plenty of dining delights, food-themed art and fellowship with other foodie-minded friends. The local eats come to the party, thanks to restaurants such as Harvest, Niche, Bridge Tap House & Wine Bar, Local Harvest Café, Farmhaus and many more, and Cbabi Bayoc, James Ibur and others provide the artworks up for bid in the auction. Eats are included in your $40-to-$50 ticket; a cash bar serves up drinks. To purchase your tickets or to learn more, visit www.brownpapertickets.com; proceeds benefit Slow Food's Small Farm Micro Biodiversity Grant.
