Earth Day II

All right, technically Earth Day was earlier this week. But isn't the message of Earth Day that we should be invested in the ecological future of our big blue marble at all times, and not just on special days? Exactly. Today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Missouri Botanical Garden (4344 Shaw Boulevard; 314-577-5100 or www.mobot.org) celebrates Earth Day again with a host of art and educational activities for the kids and plenty of opportunities for parents to meet one-on-one with representatives from numerous conservation groups from around the state. Participating groups include St. Louis Audubon Society, Gateway Greening, the Sierra Club and Mobot's own EarthWays Center, and even if you learn nothing new (which is unlikely), you're certain to be inspired by the scenery. The garden in springtime puts on quite a show. Admission is $4 to $8, but free for St. Louis city and county residents before noon on Saturday.
