At its best your lunchtime entertainment is a magazine or newspaper left behind by another lunchgoer. At its worst, you're looking at table tents. While decent reading materials might suffice as the highlight of your typical workday, midday mealtime certainly could be improved and enhanced. It's time to step out of the restaurant scene and experience something a bit more enriching, such as ANNONYArts' Dine on Dance lunchtime performances. Held outdoors at noon on consecutive Fridays (September 17 and 24), these modern-dance concerts present site-specific choreography (not stage-specific choreography, so it's a bit more freeform and in the round) by some of St. Louis' most talented dancers, including Dawn Karlovsky, Summer Beasley and Monica Newsam. The dancers' pieces are accompanied by live music played by Tory Z. Starbuck and Rick Kramer, offering an added sensory bonus. Pack a lunch or be sure your carryout is ready in time and head to the Market in the Loop (6655 Delmar Boulevard, University City) on September 17 and Strauss Park (Washington and North Grand boulevards) on September 24. Attending Dine on Dance is free; call 314-721-0052 or visit www.annonyarts.org to learn more.
