Creating Abstraction

Mar 1, 2012 at 4:00 am
The exploration of a new medium is an art form in and of itself, beyond the pieces created in the process. New York-based post-painterly abstractionist Ned Vena's latest exhibit, for example, features large two-dimensional pieces made from adhesive vinyl arranged on large steel doors – a decidedly unique modus operandi. These entrancing creations will line the walls of White Flag Projects (4568 Manchester Avenue; 314-531-3442 or www.whiteflagprojects.org) beginning tonight at 6 p.m. with a free opening reception. Ned Vena will remain on display through Saturday, April 7, and is available for viewings by appointment and Noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: March 1. Continues through April 7, 2012
