Create, Sip & Sketch: Globally-Inspired Drawings

When: Thu., Sept. 24, 6:30-7:30 p.m. 2015

The history of chess spans 1,500 years and several continents. Join artist Rudy Zapf, as she leads participants into new worlds of drawing, taking inspiration from the current exhibition Encore!, featuring global chess sets from the Jon Crumiller Collection. Participants will sketch objects in the exhibition incorporating patterns and ornamentation from other cultures and traditions to create original new works. Enjoy light bites, wine, and conversation while tapping into your creative side. Create your own work of art using forms derived from the ivory chess sets and diverse cultures around the world. No drawing experience necessary.

Price: $5 at the door. Free for World Chess Hall of Fame members.
