"When everybody loves me, I'm gonna be just about as happy as I can be," daydreamed Adam Duritz in "Mr. Jones," the 1993 hit that brought overnight acclaim to Bay Area roots rockers Counting Crows. Back then Duritz was singing with his tongue firmly in his cheek.
