Clayton on the Beach

You've seen the ads for those $79 flights to Jamaica, and you find yourself pining away for a piña colada and the sound of a steel-drum band — but there's just not a week of vacation in your future. How about one night? Finale Music & Dining (8025 Bonhomme Avenue, Clayton; 314-863-8631 or www.finale-stl.com) doesn't have piña coladas on the menu, but you could probably make do with the "Funky Monkey Chocolate Banana" martini and the sounds of the Caribbean Jazz Project. Vibraphonist/marimba player Dave Samuels (formally of Spyro Gyra), whose mastery of the mallets is rumored to make smoke fly from his instruments, heads this international Latin jazz group, which is playing four shows while in St. Louis: 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. tonight and Thursday (April 26 and 27). Tickets are $25; call 314-241-1888 or visit www.ticketmaster.com to make a purchase.
Wed., April 26; Thu., April 27
