Christmas, Wrecked

Nov 25, 2010 at 4:00 am
Rachel's Christmas is about to head south — all the way south into the toilet. At home and seemingly secure on Christmas Eve, she's told by her no-goodnik husband that he's hired a hitman to kill her. Rachel escapes out the kitchen window of the couple's home, thus embarking on a picaresque misadventure of zanily outsized proportions. Craig Lucas' play Reckless tells the story of Rachel's encounters with misfit new friends who nevertheless keep her alive, a $100,000 TV game-show win and even an unfortunate reunion with her crappy husband. Reckless is performed by the NonProphet Theater Company at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 5 p.m. Sunday (December 3 through 12), at the Regional Arts Commission (6128 Delmar Boulevard; 636-236-4831 or www.nptco.org). Tickets are $12 to $15.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Dec. 3. Continues through Dec. 12, 2010
