Chicago Style

The spawn of The Second City, the nation's premier improv comedy school and theater based in Chicago, are now more legendary than the still-living company itself. Take breakout stars Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris, Tina Fey and Keegan-Michael Key, for instance -- they are all alumni of SC. Clearly, The Second City is capable of producing some fine entertainment. Second City's touring company is on the road with a new production, Happily Ever Laughter. Only part of it is new, actually; It's a curated selection of classic SC sketches as well as some original stuff. You can see this piquant blend of scripted and improv comedy at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 6 and 9 p.m. Saturday (March 20 through 22) at the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (One University Boulevard at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-4949 or www.touhill.org). Tickets are $33 to $35.
March 20-21, 8 p.m.; Sat., March 22, 6 & 9 p.m., 2014
