Charlie: A Life

The Immediacy Theatre Project annually stages a 24-hour play festival, in which six teams have 24 hours to each create a ten-minute play from scratch. This year, ITP is giving the teams a few props, first among them Charlie Stillaway, a character who must be the protagonist of each play. They'll also be given a narrative prompt they must work into their play, and a genre. The result is The (Fantastic, Romantic, Mysterious, Horrific, Absurd, Exciting) Journey of Charlie Stillaway, a never-before seen drama that will document six pivotal moments in Charlie's life — including his death. That's not a spoiler, either; we all end up dead, so it's only fair Charlie gets what's coming to him just like the rest of us. It's all about the journey, not the destination, anyway. The ... Journey of Charlie Stillaway takes place at 8 p.m. this evening at the Kranzberg Arts Center (501 North Grand Boulevard; www.facebook.com/immediacy). Tickets are $10.
