Carl Weathersby, from Meadville, Miss., has a strong St. Louis connection — touring from 1979-81 with St. Louis-area guitarist Albert King before working for the next 14 years with Chicago-area harmonica player Billy Branch. Since 1996, he's released three albums as a leader; the most recent, the restless Feeling on Evidence, garnered Weathersby W.C. Handy Award nominations for Male Blues Artist of the Year, Artist Most Deserving Wider Recognition and Best Guitarist. These days, he mixes R&B influences and even a touch of reggae into his sets.
