Bruno Mars

7 p.m. Friday, November 26. Pop's, 401 Monsanto Avenue, Sauget, Illinois.

Since lending his talents to the likes of Travie McCoy, Cee Lo Green and B.o.B earlier this year, Bruno Mars has become one of today's most sought-after musicians — seemingly overnight. The Hawaiian-born singer/songwriter/producer released his debut full-length, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, last month. The ten-track album's musical influences range from reggae to rock, but yet it remains comfortably within the pop category. Mars' smooth and soft-spoken vocals lend themselves well to the catchy hooks and simple style for which he's becoming known, and they've helped him score a No. 1 hit with "Just the Way You Are." Mars has recently brought his act back stateside, having finished up a European tour earlier this month.
