Black Eyed Peas/T-Pain

7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 14. Scottrade Center, 1401 Clark Avenue.

Love 'em or hate 'em, the Black Eyed Peas juggernaut shows no signs of slowing down. The group's latest album, 2009's The E.N.D., has spawned five top ten Billboard chart hits — including the Grammy-winning, feel-good jam "I Gotta Feeling," the hip-pop slink "Imma Be" and the techno-funk jock-jam "Rock That Body" (the latter of which samples Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock). The videos accompanying these songs are mini-movies full of RoboCop fashion and futuristic story lines — an apt visualization of the band's transition into sleek global pop stars. Fellow future-leaning rapper/producer T-Pain is opening. As an added bonus: Black Eyed Pea will be DJing at Lure after the show.
