Bettie Serveert/Salvation

9 p.m. Friday, October 22. Blueberry Hill's Duck Room, 6504 Delmar Boulevard, University City.

Underestimate Bettie Serveert at your own risk: The Dutch rockers aren't the most prolific musicians, but their sweet-and-sour indie pop is always worth the wait. This year's criminally overlooked Pharmacy of Love explodes with bristling '90s rock signifiers — listen to the snarling riffs bashing through "Deny All" and the scorching bass on "The Pharmacy" — and strong, memorable songwriting. While certainly modern, Love nestles cozily into the rest of Bettie Serveert's indie-pop catalog, including its best-known LPs, Palomine and Lamprey. Salvation, the new project from ex-Sullen frontwoman Shanna Kiel, is opening.
