Sunrise on a misty April morning is best, when the traffic is light and the only movement is the gray-white steam fluttering up from the manholes on Broadway. Take it slow and easy. The Arch is radiant now; dancing rays of sunshine have turned our curved steel treasure the color of apricot. The windows wink at the towering AT&T Center and US Bank Plaza. Busch Stadium looks magnificent from here, as does the Old Courthouse, our handsome old friend. From this vantage point, the gritty cityscape is somehow strangely alluring, muscular even. For a moment you might even be seized by the thought: Don't we look bigger and mightier than we are?
