R.L. Steamers hasn't lost any of its whimsy since moving from its small Dogtown location (now Spaghetteria Mama Mia) to the hinterlands of Chesterfield. In fact, the same damn signs with puns that made us moan before ("Frankly, Scallop, I don't give a clam") are still sprinkled throughout the larger space. Fortunately, the move hasn't affected R.L. Steamers' reputation for serving great seafood, either. Offerings range from the simple to the creative: grilled kajiki (blue marlin) is graced with an oyster-Brie cream sauce; smoked shrimp lasagna is stuffed with mushrooms and baby spinach; and the tank-to-plate lobster is as fresh as it gets outside of Maine. Oyster nachos are still on the menu, just as they have been since owner Larry Shifrin opened the place. Caesar salad aficionados appreciate Steamers' version, redolent of garlic and anchovies. With the move came the addition of a retail fish market that carries a huge selection of seafood flown in from all points on the globe, available for you to take home and prepare yourself, just for the halibut.
