Three words: Larry Conners USA. This summer the "Big 550" KTRS landed the free-agency pickup of the season when it hired TV-anchor-turned-opinionated-patriot Larry Conners for its late-night broadcasts. Sure, Conner's old-man bluster can border on the unintentionally comedic at times. But you've gotta hand it to him: Dude has more flavor than a slab of peppered beef jerky (which we're pretty sure is the only food Conners eats). But he's not the only KTRS radio host with spice. The charismatic Martin Kilcoyne, perhaps best known for his evening gig as the sports director for KTVI (Channel 2), is quickly becoming one of the better talk-show hosts in town with his midmorning slot that takes on topics far beyond the sports beat. Round up these two newcomers and mix in seasoned hosts such as McGraw Milhaven, John Carney and Frank O. Pinion, and you've got yourself a talker in KTRS that will keep you informed — and entertained — from sunup through sundown.
