For years, travelers complained that Lambert-St. Louis International Airport's restrooms were dismal and drab. Not anymore. They're being revamped into clean and well-lighted places, with a little pizzazz to boot, thanks to the vision of local firm Gray Design Group Inc. One bathroom is already finished, and its floors are no longer a drab tile but, rather, a light terrazzo. The sink countertops are ADA compliant and made of quartz. The walls are accented with vivid greens, blues, reds and yellows that vary from room to room. All told, nine new sets of restrooms in the concourses and one new set in the baggage-claim area will be brand spankin' new by the end of 2012. Lambert had a tough year, what with the tornado damage to concourse C. But you know what? They're trying. And St. Louisans and passers-through alike will appreciate being able to freshen up and answer nature's call in a spiffy, bright milieu.
