Citygarden truly embodies the best of both worlds. The city of St. Louis and the Gateway Foundation managed not only to create a gorgeous city park full of sculptures and beautifully lighted fountains and gardens, but it also crafted it in such a way that visitors are encouraged to become part of the art through playful interaction — resulting in entertainment for passersby. From the inviting fountains and utter lack of "do not touch" signs to the giant screen where visitors can watch themselves climbing a rock fountain, Citygarden provides a stage for tourists and native St. Louisans alike to climb, run through waterfalls, pose for photos and act like children.
