When you first set foot in El Torito, you're greeted by a little candlelit shrine to the Virgin Mary. Take a right and you move into a massive, auténtico Mexican supermarket that stocks everything from masa and mole to an impressive selection of candles bearing the likenesses of saints and virgins. In the back there's a meat counter that sells the best longaniza sausage this side of the border. Turn left at the entrance and you enter a taqueria that serves delicious traditional Mexican fare. For a time the store's basement hosted volunteers from local colleges who tutored Hispanic elementary school students in math and English. ¿Cómo se dice "one-stop shop" en español?
