Foam proves that great shows can come in small packages. Not a traditional venue by any means, it straddles the fence between coffeehouse and neighborhood bar, with a cozy, light-strung space for creativity-loving minds to convene intimately between libations. Foam hosts a variety of genres between its brick walls and provides a comfortable musical home for all comers. Over the past year it has upped the ante, booking live music acts nearly every night — from no-name local groups just getting off the ground to larger national bands who'll play the tiny venue for a pittance of an entry fee. Rock, experimental, hip-hop, open mics, comedy, indie-pop — Foam always has something new and exciting to froth up its audience, often with no cover charge or for as little as a $5 (suggested) donation.
