Best Florist

Botanicals Design Studio

To some, flowers seem like an indulgence — ephemeral décor that joins the compost heap after the wedding, the corporate meeting or the dinner party. But to Keith McDonnell and Dean Riebeling, flowers are a vital, vibrant component of daily happiness. McDonnell and Riebeling bring their enthusiasm and artistic vision to Botanicals Design Studio, a large South Grand space that's a riot of colorful flora. Taking cues from the natural beauty of nearby Tower Grove Park and the Missouri Botanical Garden, McDonnell, Riebeling and their fellow designers create arrangements that are beautiful, compelling and dynamic. The designs here appear wholly organic, as if the flowers were meant to bend and fall and soar a certain way, and you'll never encounter cheesy lace or cloying filler-flowers like baby's breath. Botanicals Design Studio opened in 2006 after McDonnell and Riebeling's previous employer, the much-beloved Botanicals on the Park, shut its doors. The tradition continues here to gorgeous effect.
