In St. Louis, one man's best drink deal is another man's "No way! The best deal is ___." That's why a great drink deal in this town has to have a little something extra, such as dirt-cheap sliders and fried pickles to go along with dirt cheap beer. At Llywelyn's Pub, happy-hour prices are definitely at rock bottom: Bottled brews start at an awe-inspiring $2, selected drafts are only $3 and the premium drafts are $4. But the pub-food prices are a fantastic complement. The "$3, $4, $5 Happy Hour" special goes like this: Choose from three dishes for $3, four dishes for $4 and five dishes for $5. Simple. And that includes the "Irish Pie," a delicious concoction of corned beef and cheddar stuffed inside a flaky pastry. That's on the $4 menu and worth at least twice as much. Order it along with a $3 Guinness, and it's a sweet ride on the penny-pincher's train to paradise. And don't worry about rushing after work to get there. The happy-hour special runs from 3 to 6 p.m. during the week, but it pops up again from 10 p.m. to midnight on weeknights.
