Closing out the festivities of this year's LouFest — the entirety of which could arguably be defined as this year's "Best Concert," really — was a group that many St. Louisans probably never thought they'd get a chance to see. But there they were, in the flesh: Big Boi and Andre 3000, Daddy Fat Sax and Three Stacks — the incomparable, untouchable Outkast. And it was glorious. Despite a rough start in April at the beginning of the group's comeback tour celebrating twenty years of southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, by the time the 'Kast reached Forest Park earlier this month all of the wrinkles appeared to be ironed out. The duo put on a performance that hip-hop heads and casual listeners alike won't soon forget, bursting with energy and overloaded with cool. And it's a good thing, too: Andre claims that he will be moving on once this tour wraps up, meaning this was likely the last chance we will get to see the boys in action. Pour some out for one of the finest rap groups ever to take the stage.
