Open-mic night at Fitz's Bottling Company proves you don't need a traditional club setting to attract great comics and consistent audiences. For the past two years, hosts Jon Venegoni and (RFT contributor) Kelsey McClure have taken over the upper balcony for a late-night standup showcase of everyone from amateurs to polished veterans. And if you're ready to write some dick jokes of your own — c'mon, it's an open mic! Write some dick jokes! — Fitz's crowds know to forgive some jitters or a rough delivery. The show can stretch till midnight, and Fitz's menu makes an excellent companion while experiencing a diverse cross-section of the St. Louis comedy scene. Don't forget to head to the downstairs patio area to join the bullshitting sessions led by an array of drunk comedians — they can definitely teach you a thing or two about writing those penis punch lines. Fitz's open mics start at 10 p.m. every Thursday.
