Grant Ressel

Ressel began his sophomore season at Mizzou as a walk-on, fighting for the backup kicker job. He finished as a first-team All-American. He won the starting role in the week leading up and the first game of the season against Illinois and made three field goals, two of which were longer than 40 yards. He only missed once the entire season, connecting on 65 of 66 kicks and 26 of 27 field goals. Ressel's lone shank came against Nebraska on a 43-yard attempt during torrential rain on a high snap. Against Kansas in the final game of the season, he connected on four kicks, including the game winner as time expired. His 98.5 percent accuracy on kicks set an NCAA record and earned him awards from Sports Illustrated and Sporting News, plus first-team all-Big 12 honors. He was also first team all-conference for academics.
