For anyone sick of the typical black-bean patty offered as an alternative to beef burgers at most restaurants, the Crow's Nest has the antidote. Located on Maplewood's main drag, the Crow's Nest veggie burger is a homemade chickpea patty packed with a blend of carrots, green onions, water chestnuts, panko breadcrumbs and whatever vegetables the kitchen has on hand. The panko not only binds the burger together, but makes the outside delightfully crunchy while the innards remain moist. It is served on a wheat bun with crispy tobacco onions, tomato, mixed greens and a smooth, creamy remoulade. The Crow's Nest veggie burger is the perfect thing to eat while drinking brewskis and headbanging to Ride the Lightning-era Metallica — which, incidentally, the Crow's Nest also offers.
