Believe in Magic

With all of the power outages in the past year, it's good to know that there's no shortage of electricity at Santa's Magical Kingdom in Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park (Six Flags and Fox Creek roads, at exit 261 off I-44, Eureka). Here, more than two million lights illuminate exactly what goes on in the land of Claus after the Christmas deliveries have been made. Are the elves drunk on eggnog? Are the reindeer sitting in hot tubs, soothing their sore muscles? Is Santa totally conked out in front of the tube? Or is everything as cheery as always? You'll just have to load the family in the car and find out. (We're guessing you'll witness happiness in its purest state.) This drive-through light display — with two space-age light tunnels! — opens at 5:30 p.m. daily and closes at 10:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday (through Tuesday, January 2). The journey costs $16 per vehicle (there's a coupon at www.santasmagicalkingdom.com), and you can try to get in touch with one of Santa's elves at 636-938-5925. And note: If driving through in your car seems too far removed from the action, hop aboard the Santa Express; the train runs nightly, and your ticket ($10 to $12) must be purchased in advance over the phone.
