Animals Out of Paper

Being a successful origami artist requires reproducible perfection, which Ilana is finding hard to attain these past few months. An ongoing divorce and the loss of a loved one has thrown her for a loop, and now she has unexpected visitors. Andy is a high school teacher and fan of her work, and he wanted his student, Suresh, and Ilana to meet because Suresh is something of an origami natural. What began as an ill-timed intrusion turns into exactly what Ilana needed. Rajiv Joseph's comic-drama Animals Out of Paper is a warm and sensitive play about making art and human connections. R-S Theatrics presents Animals Out of Paper at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday (November 20 through December 6) at the Chapel (6238 Alexander Drive; 314-252-8812 or www.r-stheatrics.com). Tickets are $18 to $20.
