When: Fri., Dec. 11, 6-8 p.m. 2015
Renowned Detroit-based Printmaker Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. will fill the Hunt gallery with literally hundreds of individual typeset poster/prints. The installation of Kennedy’s letterpress posters will address issues of race, class, and power. As both an activist and artist, Kennedy creates works of beauty that convey immediate yet often unconventional communicative power. The unique posters/prints include texts of African proverbs printed on primary colored backgrounds, as well as quotes attributed to civil rights activists Rosa Parks and others.
