A Very Metal Christmas

Holiday shopping is never easy. It is entirely too often the case that one ends up waiting until the last minute (along with everyone else) to get started, and then shopping becomes such a flabbergasting experience that you start to consider regifting. Third Degree Glass Factory (5200 Delmar Boulevard; 314-367-4527 or www.thirddegreeglassfactory.com) has a much better option. The Society for Midwest Metalsmiths visits the hot glass studio from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday (December 11 and 12) to provide you with more choices this year. Thirty artists working in sterling silver, copper, brass and gold offer jewelry in a range of styles; there are darling rings, cute necklaces, funky pins and the perfect earrings for your girlfriend or mother. Ken Domash plays acoustic guitar for your delight from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, and a cash bar is available to enliven your shopping experience. Admission is free.
